Below are frequently asked questions, you may find the answer for yourself

Where are the products made?

All our Products are handmade in small batches in our workshop in Zanzibar, Tanzania.

Do you do animal testing?

No way! We never test any of our products on animals. We do source our ingredients from suppliers who also do not test on animals.

Where are your Ingredients from?

Majority of our ingredients are locally sourced, at least 85%. The rest we sourced from around Africa and the world. We make sure to source the highest quality of raw materials so as to get the best results.

How long do your products last? What is the shelf life?

Our products are all natural and do not contain preservative except for the Body Butters which have a plant based preservative. They have a shelf life of between 12 to 24 months, but we recommend using them within 8 months. Shelf life of our products can be extended by storing our products in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight. We also add Tocopherols (Vitamin E) in all our oils and butters so as to slow oxidation and extend shelf life. Under unusual circumstances, if any of our products happen to not be fresh please reach out to us and let us know.

Why does my soap have a white layer on top? Is there something wrong?

All our products are natural and made from scratch. The white-ish layer you see on our soaps is soda ash and they can be removed. But the soap is still in good state and can be used as normal.

Are your products Vegan?

Yes they are, Except for our Goat Milk Soap.

Who formulates your products?

Our awesome team  which is led by our founder: formulates the products from start to finish. Everything is made in-house in small batches to ensure freshness and potency of the ingredients used. Our women-led team is super accurate and very talented at making sure you get the best products that does the work. Our founder has an organic formulation background and has done extensive research in plant medicine, herbs and aromatherapy.

Can I get a consultation before buying your products?

Please call us or email us for a consultation before you purchase any of our products. We can be able to recommend products that can match your skin type to give you the results you are seeking.

Where can I shop for your products?

Please visit our Stockists tab and you will see all the retailers that stock our products. Soon: you will be able to shop online. We do have our own shops that you can buy direct from, in Dar es salaam and Zanzibar.

Why is the color, scent different from the product I bought last?

The nature of our products is fresh and natural. And fresh ingredients do change from season to season, therefore our products tend to do the same and this means the quality and potency remains intact. You should not worry about that.

Do you ship around Tanzania?

Yes! We do ship across Tanzania via EMS. The parcels normally take 2-3 working days and do have a tracking number.

Do you ship International?

No. At the moment we do not ship International. We will soon be able to do so and will definitely keep you posted.

What is your Return Policy?

Due to the small batch and fresh nature of our products, we cannot accept returned of open products. If you received damaged product and wish to return please email us to: info@nuyasessence.com
